Daegu City announced on the 14th that it had selected 10 ‘Star Companies’ and 5 ‘World Star Companies’ this year.

The star companies are △Daekwang Sintered Metal (CEO Park Byeong-gon) △Daejeong Valve (Jang Se-cheol) △Tteok Sellers (Sung Woo-jin) △Sungshin Metal (Kwak Han) △Shinhwa (Lim Yong-hee) △Space (Lee Chang-woo) △Cheonil Metal Detective (Kim Hyun-soo)

△Computer Mate (Sangin Seo) △Taeil Precision (Sangdong Han) △E.O.S (Gilak Ryu). World star companies include △Guyoung Tech (CEO Hee-hwa Lee) △Bell Information (Cheol-ho Kim) △Boguk Electronics (Wan-su Lee) △Samwoo Enterprises (Jun-hyeon Kim) △Hwashin Tech (Yu-jin Jeong). The average annual sales of star companies are 11.5 billion won and the average number of workers is 66. World Star Company has 46 billion won and 168 people.
 
Daegu City has been selecting star companies since 2007 and world star companies since 2013 to develop small and medium-sized businesses that will lead the local economy. Including this year, 146 star companies and 11 world star companies have been selected so far.

Star companies receive support for management diagnosis consulting, preferential management loan loans, research and development, and marketing for three years. Choi Woon-baek, head of the Daegu City Creative Economy Division, said, “Star companies are steadily growing in sales and employment,” and added, “When strong small and medium-sized businesses come together, we will actively support them in the sense that they are like large corporations.”
