Seo Sang-in, chairman of the 4th Daegyeong ICT Industry Association, is explaining the tasks the association must undertake for the development of the Suseong Alpha City SW Cluster.

“It has been 29 years since we founded our business in Daegu, and we will contribute to the development of the local information and communication technology (ICT) industry in the future.”

Chairman Seo Sang-in (CEO of Computer Mate), who took office as the 4th chairman of the Daegyeong ICT Industry Association on the 16th, emphasized the importance of the software (SW) cluster created in Suseong Alpha City and the role of the association accordingly.

Chairman Seo said, “Daegu has the largest number of ICT-related companies south of the Han River. “The infrastructure is well-equipped and the advantage is that companies are flocking to Suseong Alpha City,” he explained. “Companies with annual sales of more than 30 billion won are springing up one after another, securing enough competitiveness to carry out large projects on their own.” .

He continued, “On the other hand, since most of the companies are still small and surviving on subcontract-level work, we are looking for ways to help and grow together at the level of the Daekyeong ICT Industry Association.”

Daekyung ICT Industry Association is planning to attract support organizations and companies to the SW cluster and create synergy effects through linkages.

Chairman Seo said, “We will operate and respond to association-centered divisions to help local companies break away from the subcontracting culture in the public sector. “We will prepare for the companies themselves so that they can gain practical profits,” he said. “Currently, there is only one ICT industry in the SW Cluster, but we will work hard to find new sources of convergence through linkages with other industries to make it an ICT platform in Daegu and Gyeongbuk where all industries are connected.” “I will,” he said.

Chairman Seo said, “We will actively participate in attracting ICT support organizations and companies to ensure that companies secure high technological capabilities and attract relevant talent,” and added, “Through close exchanges between universities and companies, we will also promote participation in government projects at the industry and academia level.” “It’s a plan,” he said.

Through this, we will create an environment in which start-ups can actively occur and commercialization can take place in the region.

Chairman Seo said, “Looking at global trends, companies based on data and logistics will survive and grow further in the future,” adding, “Now that smart factories are the trend, an era will come where IT will lead the design of manufacturing facilities, and we are currently heading in that direction. “I hope that our local companies will stand at the center of this and develop together,” he said.
