Daegu Transportation Corporation and workplace daycare center joint childcare agreement signed

- Six workplace daycare centers in Daegu City signed an agreement to improve the convenience of joint childcare -

On the 18th (Tuesday), Daegu Transportation Corporation signed a business agreement with a workplace daycare center operator located in Daegu Metropolitan City to improve the convenience of joint childcare.

The organizations that participated in the agreement are six workplace daycare centers including our corporation, Suseong-gu Office, Dalseo-gu Office, Keimyung Culture University, Computer Mate Co., Ltd., and Alpha Motors Co., Ltd.

There are 41 workplace daycare centers in Daegu Metropolitan City, and most of them are under capacity. This is not only due to the fundamental reason of low birth rate, but also because of the long distance between residence and daycare center, which limits the accessibility of consumers. Accordingly, the corporation took the lead and worked to improve the convenience of childcare with the operating organizations of workplace daycare centers scattered throughout the country, and this agreement was concluded with the active participation of operating organizations that sympathized with this.

The agreement includes: ▸ mutual use of workplace daycare centers by members of each organization; ▸ joint efforts to revitalize workplace daycare centers; ▸ plans to create synergy effects through mutual growth and mutual cooperation through joint childcare through collaborative projects and exchanges of other cultural events, etc.

The government is implementing various policies to encourage childbirth to resolve low birthrate issues, such as the lowest birthrate among OECD countries and an increase in school closures due to insufficient enrollment at local universities, and the Corporation has also taken a powerful first step to actively respond to the national low birthrate problem.

Kim Ki-hyuk, CEO of Daegu Transportation Corporation, said, “In the future, we will work with more workplace daycare centers in the region to come up with various measures to overcome the low birth rate and strive to create a convenient childcare environment for employees.”
